The Coronado-Quivira Museum in Lyons is one of the best small museums in Kansas. Separate displays focus on early inhabitants, Spanish explorers, the Sante Fe Trail, and the coming of homesteaders and permanent settlers. Part of the museum is in the old Carnegie Library, with most of the displays in the newer, adjacent structure.

Crispin's Drug Store Museum

Crispin's Drug Store Museum held its Grand Opening on July 22, 2007. This pharmacy museum is set up as a small town drug store from the 1880-1920 period. This was a time of transition for druggists - switching from preparing ingredients and products from crude drug forms (such as seeds, barks, and roots) themselves - to buying the ingredients and products already prepared from the growing number of drug manufacturers at the end of the period. Therefore the museum displays both crude drug ingredients and manufactured drugs.

Ensor Park and Museum

Marshall H. Ensor, the only son of Mr. & Mrs Jacob Ensor was a mechanical prodigy who from an early age mastered skills in crafting all sorts of utilitarian items of wood, metal, cement and electronics. Became High School instructor in Manual Arts from age 17 to 65. Was gifted historic status by receiving the 1940 Wm. S. Paley Award for important national achievement in Amateur Radio. That same year earned Master of Science degree. Designed and patented an Electric Drill machine, later sold to Black & Decker. In second World War became in charge of Seattle Naval Air Station Radio Operations. Also worked with others to pergect Radio Direction Finding apperatus used to find and sink the German submarine "Wolf Pack".

Deaf Cultural Center and William J. Marra Museum

The William J. Marra Museum of Deaf History and Deaf Culture is housed in the building of the Deaf Cultural Center. The museum is filled with interactive displays, captioned videos and artifacts related to being Deaf in America. Included in the exhibits is a demonstration room, Living By the Eye, that showcases visual signaling devices; videos of signed "oral" histories from Deaf community members; and beautiful examples of De'VIA (Deaf View Image Art) by Deaf artists from across the country.

Geary County Historical Society & Museum

The museum served as a high school from 1904 to 1929. From 1930 until the late 1960's the building housed all the sixth grades in the city as a Departmental School. The administration offices were also located in the building. In the 1940s, kindergarten classes were started in the basement level and during the 1970s, the building housed "Continuing Education" and "Head Start" programs.

Kansas Barbed Wire Museum

The Kansas Barbed Wire Museum in LaCrosse, Kansas is devoted solely to the history and legend of this part of American history often referred to as the “Devils Rope”. On exhibit are over 2000 barbed wire varieties; including samples manufactured between the years 1870 and 1890. Hundreds of antique fencing tools illustrate the inventiveness of pioneers.
