The MacArthur Memorial

The Railway Mail Service Library

The Virginia Holocaust Museum

The Virginia Holocaust Museum was founded in 1997 by Mark E. Fetter, L. Al Rosenbaum, and one of Richmond’s youngest Holocaust survivors, Jay M. Ipson, in an effort to preserve and educate people on the atrocities of the Holocaust of World War II. The Museum had a singular mission, “Teaching Tolerance Through Education.”

The Cole Digges House

Cole Digges, a Revolutionary War hero, built his house in Richmond in 1805. Renovated in 1995, the building now houses the statewide offices of Preservation Virginia, which are open by appointment. The Cole Digges House is located in the Historic Franklin Street District of Richmond.

The Tavern Museum
KING AND QUEEN COURT HOUSE, Virginia

The original brick two story core of the Courthouse Tavern building dates back to at least 1800. A third story was added between 1850 and 1900, and the two-story addition to the back was probably built between 1910 and 1915.

Thomas Balch Library

Thomas Balch Library is a history and genealogy library owned and operated by the Town Of Leesburg. Collections focus on Loudoun County, regional and Virginia history, genealogy, military history with special emphasis on the American Civil War, and ethnic history. Collection materials include books, periodicals, maps, visual collections, newspapers, oral histories,and manuscripts. Designated as an Underground Railroad research site. Lectures on history and genealogy are offered fall, winter and spring. Group tours and orientations are available on request. Books by Loudoun County authors may be purchased at the library.
