The MonDak Heritage Center is the MonDak region's premier museum and art gallery, with the largest available exhibit space of any such combined facility in the region. Our mission is to preserve the region's cultural heritage and support its artistic development through traditional museum exhibits and art shows as well as through special programming. Established in 1865, the Montana Historical Society is one of the oldest institutions of its kind west of the Mississippi River. Learn more about Montana's Museum, the Montana Historical Society Press, Montana The Magazine of Western History, the Montana State Historic Preservation Office, and the MHS Research Center. As part of the preservation effort, the Museum seeks to acquire and display any and all items related to this region's mountain flying history, including, but not limited to, appropriate vintage aircraft, memorabilia, artifacts, historical documents, photographs, personal narratives and diaries, motion picture footage, tape recordings, magazine articles and books.

Located on a former placer mining claim in the Last Chance Gulch area of Helena. The Cornerstone was laid on July 18, 1936. Since that time the Museum has enjoyed a growth and partronage that distinguishes is as a respectable museum with colecitons of early Montana and Masonic History in Montana.
