The George Westinghouse Museum provides a retreat into early 19th century Wilmerding where George Westinghouse lived and worked. The museum features Westinghouse's life and career by documenting his accomplishments and focusing on his many inventions. The Museum in his honor is not only a tribute to George Westinghouse, one of the world's foremost inventors and entrepreneurs, it is likewise a tribute to the thousands of men and women who have worked for the Westinghouse companies over the years, and whose achievements have made the lives of people everywhere safer, easier and more pleasant.

Graeme Park, a 42-acre estate, is home to the Keith House, the former residence of Pennsylvania colonial Governor, Sir William Keith, as well as a reconstructed summer kitchen and 19th century barn. The site features a nature trail and picnicing facilities and offers regular house tours. Many special events throughout the year bring local and colonial history alive to visitors and a special emphasis is placed on the lives and personal histories of the former residents of Graeme Park.

The Society Library will open for the season on Wednesday, April 6, 2011. Volunteers will be on hand to help patrons with research projects on local history,genealogy and the Civil War. The Library will then be open for regular hours on Wednesdays from April through November from 12:00 Noon to 5:00 PM. The Museum will officially open for tours on Saturday May 7 with its annual Open House. This is a rare opportunity to tour the museum on a weekend day.

George C. Marshall Memorial Plaza

History

The George C. Marshall Memorial Plaza is located in the birthplace and boyhood home of General of the Army George C. Marshall, and honors the 1953 Nobel Peace Prize winner and Secertary of State with narrative plaques, rare historical photographs, a statue of the General, the Flags of Nations, a walkway that recalls Turn of the 19th Century Uniontown, and an arched bridge over Coal Lick Run, where Marshall played as a boy. The Plaza also contains statues of a World War I Doughboy and a World War II GI. The Plaza was formally dedicated Oct. 26, 2003, by Prince Andrew of the United Kingdom.
