WA recognizes that we are helping to create an environment for present and future generations, often while working with structures inherited from the past. Sustainability is primary, as demonstrated by our LEED-Silver “Sustainable Urban Villa,” by our creative re-use of countless historic buildings, and by plans for a net-zero energy recreational facility with an indoor swimming pool designed by vice-president Frederick A. Soule, AIA.

Projects at WA involving historic buildings benefit from our expert knowledge of the architecture of the past—from the 18th to the mid-20th century— from our appreciation for and sensitivity to the unique elements and individual character of old buildings, from our sound judgment regarding intervention and reuse, and from our design skill.
