The Fifth Maine Regiment Memorial Hall was built in 1888 by veterans of the Fifth Regiment Maine Volunteer Infantry as a reunion hall and summer cottage fir them and their families. Today this wonderful Queen Anne style cottage is maintained as a museum of Civil War and local history.
The Fifth Maine community Association formed in 1954 for the purpose of restoring the Hall and operating it as a museum.
