Encourage local historical research and publication of the results
Promote historical activities in the community
Encourage the preservation of historic sites.
The Society maintains two 18th century buildings that serve as foundations for its activities such as museum exhibits, library and research, and programs and events. We are working toward increasng our visibility with events and program in order to be a resource for the community.
Formed in 1964.
Dewees Museum displays artifacts that reflect the history of the area from the 18th to the 20th centuries.
Muhlenberg House reflects the life and times of Henry Melchoir Muhlenberg and his family during the Revolutionary War.
We are in the process of catorizing our collection. Our Historian can assist with geneological research upon request.
