Description

The Oakdale Museum is located in the oldest building in Oakdale. It houses artifacts, memorabilia and photographs of Oakdale's history. Research assistance is offered to the public on events, buildings and persons.

The Oakdale Museum and History Center is managed and operated by Friends of Oakdale Heritage, a 501c3 non profit.

Mission

“Preserve, protect and promote the history of the Oakdale area, including memorabilia of the past, for the enrichment and education of the area residents.”

History

The Sydnor-Prowse House was built in 1869, is of Italianate design and is the first and oldest home still in existence in Oakdale, California.

Research Collections

Numerous family histories have been collected and maintained for research purposes and staff are available for assistance, when needed.
