Mission

Advocate for the Arts as a means of community and economic revitalization by advancing the Glasstown Arts District and center city neighborhood.

History

Millville was founded in 1802. The Maurice River provided shipping access into the Delaware Bay. Textile mills and glass manufacturing grew along the river and later spread throughout the city. During the late 1980's and the 1990's Millville lost nearly 7,500 manufacturing and computer processing jobs. The arts became a catalyst for the downtown area to become revitalized and energize the population of 28,400 citizens.

Governance

Main Street Millville and the Glasstown Arts District are programs under the management of the MDC. It is governed by an appointed Board of Directors and four standing committees.
