Description

We celebrate the labor of artists whose work would be displayed and appreciated in no other forum. Through traveling exhibits, special events, and changing exhibits, we share the best bad art ever assembled in one, two or three museums. Our collection numbers about 600 pieces, but due to limited exhibition space, we show 50 to 70 at a time.

Mission

MOBA collects, exhibits, and celebrates the best of the worst.A short commentary about each image offers insightful direction toward appreciation of the works. A small part of the collection is on display in our Somerville gallery. Many more can be seen our website and Facebook page.

History

Founded in 1994, MOBA has become the world's leading institution dedicated to bad art.

Artifact Collections

Primarily paintings, many of which have been rescued from the trash, discovered in thrift stores, or found in an attic or flea market.

Programs

Groups can schedule a gallery talk about MOBA's unique mission and the art that we love so dearly.

Facilities

Small gallery with up to 20 works exhibited. Much more on Facebook and our website.

Governance

Massachusetts corporation, 501(c)3 with small Board of Directors.
