Our vision is of people from all walks of life, in all stages of life, being drawn to a welcoming place where they experience quality learning through the unique aspects of the museum setting; through that learning they become more engaged in their community, developing an appreciation of the collective experiences of those who have gone before, and a passion to perpetuate those experiences to benefit those yet to come.
Purpose and Objectives:
1) Perpetuate and preserve the history and traditions of Wyoming County, West Virginia, for future generations.
2)Discover, collect, preserve, and interpret any material related to exploration, settlement, and development of said area.
3)Provide for the preservation, accessibility and display of any such material.
4)Encourage preservation of historical buildings, monuments and markers.
5)Stimulate and encourage the interest of students of all levels and the general public in the history of this geographical area.
Recognizing that our past profoundly influences our future the Wyoming County Historical Museum collects, preserves and interprets the historic and prehistoric cultural heritage of the Wyoming County region, for all citizens.
