The mssion of the Langston Hughes Family Museum is to
promote and preserve the family legacy of the Hughes Family. The museum and
exhibit takes you on a walk through history displaying over 150 individual
family artifacts all preserved in their original state and all items used by
the family of Langston Hughes dating back more than 100 plus years.
ncorporated in 2007, this facility is dedicated to
preserving the family history of Langston Hughes. We offer a unique look at
times past while promoting education, history and the legacy of a family
that produced greatness, The Hughes Family.
Exhibitions, Educator Guided Lectures are the
mainstay of the facility. Fee schedule is based upon the length of time the
contracting agent wants to display the artifacts. Special preference is
extended to educational institutions. All lectures are provided by the
Executive Director
/Curator who is a Hughes Family Member.
Since this is a new organization,
the first annual report was prepared for board members in January 2009. We
are looking to produce a newsletter in the future.
