Description

The museum was completed in 1980 with funds contributed by Elizabeth Smith in memory of her father George A. Smith and her grandfather, Samuel Abbot Smith. The museum houses exhibits and the Society's collection of artifacts, manuscripts, and other Arlington memorabilia. The Smith Museum is handicapped accessible.

Mission

Smith Museum holds the offices and collections of the Arlington Historical Society.

Educational Programs

Join the Arlington Historical Society for their monthly talk on subjects of historical interest. A different subject is explored in a slide-lecture each month,. See our Events Page a arlingtonhistorical.org for upcoming talks and location. Each talk begins promptly at 7:30pm pm the night indicated. Free for Arlington Historical Society members; small charge ($3.00) for non-members, who are welcome to attend.Call (781) 648-4300 for more information.
The Arlington Historical Society offers programs designed for specific groups, including school and home school classes, scouts, etc. It is an easy process, simply schedule a date and time, pick activities from the group below (or design your own with the help of our staff) to meet your needs, and visit us.
School Visits are a flexible way of teaching multiple topics to students. We can tailor your visit to your current curriculum. Our class tours are given on Thursdays and Fridays, from April through mid-June. Other times are available if staffing allows.
