Description

The main focus of the WWM is education, and there are three main areas of focus:

  1. The history, culture, practice and ethics of hunting and field sports all over the world.
  2. The biology of plants and animals native to the United States and another part of the world. Every year, we will look at a different continent.
  3. The impact of human activities on the global environment and local ecosystems and how individuals can practice environmental stewardship in everyday life
We offer education courses for various ages on wilderness first aid (for professionals and laymen) as well as wilderness firearm safety.

Artifact Collections

Many North American game animals, including: fish, birds, deer, elk, bears, foxes, wolves, coyotes, moose, caribou, mt Lions, Dall Sheep, Big horn sheep, Preditory skulls, bobcats.

Research Collections

All Adventures cataloged by pictures and stories. Art works by local artists, carvings by world renowned carvers. You can research big game trophies trough the Boone And Crocket volumes.

Educational Programs

Certification courses offered in conjunction with the American Heart Association:

Course#1 - Wilderness Friends and Family CPR This course is offered to layman of all ages. Topics to be covered will include:

  • Adult/child CPR
  • Adult/child choking
  • Infant CPR
  • Infant choking
Course Length 3 hours Cost $35

Course#2-Wilderness CPR and First Aid

This course is offered to lay people with a duty to respond. Topics to be covered will include;
  • Adult First Aid Environmental Emergencies
  • Adult/Child CPR w/mask
  • Adult/Child AED Infant CPR w/mask
Course Length 6.5 hours Cost $70

Course#3 - BLS for Health Care Providers
This course is offered to healthcare providers. Topics to be covered will include:
  • Adult/Child and Infant 1 & 2 rescuer
  • CPR Ventilations w/bag mask
  • Choking AED use
Course Length 4.5 hours
Cost $50

*All courses require student to supply own paper and writing implement for note taking. All other materials provided.

Certification courses offered in conjunction with the National Riffle Association:

Course#1-Pistol Introduction and Safety
This course is offered to layman of 18 years of age and older. The course will include a small amount of outdoor live fire time.
Course Length 4 hours Cost $60

Course#2-Pistol Expert
This course requires successful completion of Pistol Introduction and Safe Handling Course #1 and students must be 18 years of age and older. The course will include range time.
Course Length 6 hours Cost $90

Course #3-Rifle Introduction and Safety
This course is offered to layman of 11 years of age and older. This course will include 2 hours of range time with instruction.
Course Length 6 hours Cost $90

Course#4-Shotgun Introduction and Safety
This course is offered to layman of 11 years of age and older. Course includes Instruction on Action Type Rifles. This course will include 2 hours of range time with instruction.
Course Length 6 hours Cost $90

Course #5-Shotgun Expert
This course requires successful completion of course #4 Shotgun Introduction and Safety and students must be 11 years of age and older. This course will include trap, clays course and tower
Course Length 6 hours Cost $90
