Description

I envision our museum as the 1st stop for anyone interested in the heritage of the Swedish Colony founded in 1638 in the Delaware Valley before William Penn.

History

The organization was founded by Malcom Mackenzie, deceased, a visionary who wanted to make people aware of the wonderful early colonial history of the Delaware Valley that had nearly been forgotten.

Artifact Collections

Colonial Tools, model of Fort Christina; minature heritage figures and full size manequins depicting the early settlers; model of a Scandinavian Church-boat; Corner cut a way diorama of a Swedish corner fireplace; Lenape Indian artifacts and life size manequin; manequin of first black in the colony in 1639, and more.

A collection of hands on collonial games and repro clothing for children to try on. This museum is small but contains a wealth of information.
Research Collections

Small collection of books on New Sweden Colony.

Programs

We have several reenactors who particpate in local festivals and go to schools in the persona of the early settlers.
