Our objective is to support a living historical center to foster education and appreciation of the history of Winfield and vicinity.
The Winfield Historical Society was chartered in 1978 by citizens of Winfield interested in preserving the village’s history. Their mission is to support a living historical center to foster education and appreciation of the history of Winfield and vicinity. To that end, many activities and programs are planned throughout the year. The annual CDH Winfield Run is held in the summer with proceeds benefiting Hedges Station. Winfield’s annual Good Old Days celebration is held in September. Historical Society members will be on hand during the festivities. The Saturday of the Good Old Days celebration will include an open house at Hedges Station following the walking tour of historic Winfield. The open house will include the Coloring Contest and Passport Program awards ceremony.
