The Oglethorpe University Museum is a fine art museum committed to the exhibition of figurative/realistic art that is often international, spiritual, and/or mystical in nature.
Occupying the entire third floor of the Philip Weltner Library, the Oglethorpe University Museum of Art opened in the spring of 1993, after extensive renovations of the previous Oglethorpe University Art Gallery (1984-1992). The Museum, which covers 7,000 square feet, offers a comfortable, intimate environment created by two spacious galleries, and an inviting Gift Shop featuring items of beauty from throughout the world. It has become an important cultural addition to Atlanta's growing art scene, drawing thousands of visitors each year.
Docent Tours every Sunday at 2 p.m.
The museum is located on the third floor of the Philip Weltner Library Building, near the rear of the Oglethorpe University campus. Free parking is available immediately behind the building.
