The citizens of Antrim indicated their interest in forming a Historical Society, by a vote at Town Meeting in 1983, whose purpose is to collect, document and preserve all artifacts deemed to be of historical interest to the citizens of Antrim. Throughout the years, the Society has presented programs of historical interest and continues to amass extensive collections relating to Antrim’s past

The collections of the Historical Society are located in the upstairs room of the James A. Tuttle Library. These rooms are accessible to all by means of an elevator.

Monthly programs are usually held at the First Presbyterian Church throughout the year on the third Sunday of the month.

Mission

The Antrim Historical Society is dedicated to the preservation and understanding of Antrim's heritage. We strive to promote a collection, study, appreciation and interpretation of our local and regional history.

Our goals - To research and preserve Antrim's history, past and present. To provide regular programs of historical interest to the community. To provide resources to our schools and interested citizens and assist in researching family genealogies and family homes. To provide and maintain space for the display and storage of our collections. To raise funds to make acquisitions for our collection and to present programs.
