This 1770s Tidewater Plantation style house stands on its original foundation and is the birthplace of two Virginia Governors. Costumed interpreters give tours of the seven period furnished rooms, a gift shop is also available.

The Historic Smithfield Museum Store, on the lower level of the main house, is open during visiting hours. The shop carries extraordinary gift items including Virginia products and crafts, colonial toys and games, books, pewter, stoneware, china, and textiles. The shop has products from Virginia Metalcrafters, Williamsburg Pottery, Blenko Glass, authentic toys from Cooperman, Fife & Drum, the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, and the Cherokee Indians.
