Discover the charm and simplicity of yesteryear at Lefferts Historic House. An 18th century Dutch colonial farmhouse, Lefferts offers people of all ages the chance to explore historic artifacts and exhibits that combine interactive tools, toys and games with rooms furnished in the style of the early 19th century. Also participate in seasonal farming and craft activities that bring Brooklyn's rural beginnings to life. Lefferts reveals the history and culture of the area's Dutch, African and Native American children of the area experienced it. The Brooklyn Historical Society places the materials it collects in a meaningful context by presenting innovative exhibitions and public programs.
Founded in 1863, the Brooklyn Historical Society is a nationally renowned urban history center dedicated to the exploration and preservation of documents, artwork and artifacts representative of Brooklyn's diverse cultures past and present.

The Wyckoff Farmhouse Museum is the oldest structure in New York City and dates back to the time of New Amsterdam. The house was occupied by the Wyckoff Family from 1652 - 1901. It is due to the diligent efforts of the Wyckoff family that this monument of Colonial Brooklyn still stands, in its original spot, today.
